Kindness Doesn't Take a Day Off

Monday Kindness Challenge 9.2.19

Happy Labor Day! Woot Woot, it's a day off from school and perhaps from work. We get the day off but, do you know why? Here are some fun facts that you can share around your dinner table tonight.
Fun Fact #1: We always celebrate Labor Day on the first Monday in September.

Fun Fact #2: "Labor Day was created by the labor movement in the late 19th century and became a federal holiday in 1894." (Source: US Department of Labor)

Fun Fact #3: "Labor Day constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country." (Source: US Department of Labor)
Kindness Doesn't Take a Day Off. Now that you have the day off, what are your plans for spreading kindness? We have some ideas for you. Gather up the whole family and spread kindness in your community!

Today, we challenge you (and your family too) to do these five simple acts of kindness throughout the week!

Monday Challenge: 5 Intentional Acts of Kindness
  1.  When you are out and about, help an elderly person cross the street or hold the door for a stranger.
  2. Give compliments to your friends and family via social media.
  3. Don't just step over the garbage on the ground. Every time you go outside, pick up two pieces of litter then toss it in the nearest trash bin.
  4. Make a healthy family meal together and bring the leftovers to a neighbor.
  5. Put a big smile on your face, and wish every person who crosses your path an authentic and joyful good morning (or afternoon)!

Report back and tell us how it felt to be kind to others. Comment on our blog or social media using the #ichoose2bekind

Until next time... be thoughtful, be present, be kind.

Smiled and said Good Morning! to so many people--most reply kindly, some not so. . . maybe they are having a "not-so-good morning"? I hope my kindness got them back on track!
Thank you for these great suggestions--I will share!

    Note From the Founder

Hello. I am the founder of the 21 Day Kindness Challenge Program.
I believe if we focus our efforts on helping our young people develop good character values and teach them how to listen with their hearts their world will be a kinder place to live. It is my hope that my story inspires others to “be the change they want to see in the world.”
